Duxbury Lions Club Programs

The  food pantry is an all volunteer organization committed to helping those in Duxbury and the surrounding communities in need of food. The pantry opened in  June 2012 and is sponsored by the Duxbury Lions Club. It is located in the back lot at St. Paul's church.

To sign up to use the pantry, please bring your license or a current bill showing your address. You will complete a one page intake form and be ready to shop! It is helpful if you are able to bring your own reusable bags.

DONATION DROP OFF:

Small donations can be dropped off at 10AM on Mondays or 4PM on Fridays prior to the pantry opening for clients. For larger donations, call 617-775-2714 to arrange a time.

If you would like to make a monetary donation to the pantry, please make your check out to Duxbury Lions Charitable Foundation and mail it to the  P.O. Box 1072, Duxbury MA 02331.

Duxbury Lions & District 33S provided over 300 pairs of sunglasses & readers for the Cape CARES trip to Honduras earlier this month. The glasses were transported to Honduras by Pelligrini Family Dentistry's volunteer team who provided free dental services to members of the remote mountainous village of Los Encinitos. Thanks to the Pelligrini team and Cape CARES for making a difference in the world! 

Oktoberfest 2019

Duxbury Lions held their 7th annual Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 19th, 2019. The evening featured an authentic Bavarian dinner, beer tastings, contests, music, dancing and a silent auction. Thanks to all who attended. It was a great time.

Here is the best news - The Duxbury Lions Club donated  the proceeds, $8,500.00 to Crossroads the 501(c)3 organization that runs Camp Wing in Duxbury. https://crossroadsma.org/

Coat & Sweater Drive - Job Well Done!!

Duxbury friends and neighbors came together and supported the Duxbury Lions in our first ever Coat & Sweater Drive. Over 600 coats and sweaters were collected from 3 collection points. We would like to thank the Duxbury Library and Duxbury Senior Center staff and the folks "that snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night bother". We also want to say thank you to all that took time to clean out their closets for this worthy cause. Your coats and sweaters were distributed directly to homeless on the streets of Boston and the New Bedford area.

Congratulations to our Lions Club for regaining the 1st Place title last night at Rotary's Trivia Night! Great fundraising event for Habitat's Veterans Build Project! Thank you, Rotary & Legion for a fun night! 

A fun night at Panera Bread fundraiser in Plymouth last night. Thanks to all who came to support our Club! 

Duxbury Lions & District 33S provided over 300 pairs of sunglasses & readers for the Cape CARES trip to Honduras earlier this month. With all the fun, games, crafts, and animals at the Marshfield Fair, even exceptionally tall pirates get hungry! Stop by the Duxbury Lions Club Booth for food and refreshments during your visit to the fair. You're sure to run into some friendly Lions volunteers-- and maybe even a pirate or two! Ahoy! Weigh anchor and OFF TO THE FAIR! 

Duxbury Food Pantry Update....We were very fortunate to have the Interfaith Council donate a new freezer to our Food Pantry. HUGE thanks to the Interfaith Council for their generosity. We want everyone to know how much we appreciate the response we received fr others in the community wishing to help w/donations and ideas. What a great town we live in! If you know of anyone who is having trouble making ends meet and needs help w/food, pls let them know about the Food Pantry at the rear of St. Paul's Church of the Nazarene. We are open Mondays 10:30-12:00 and Fridays from 4:30-6:00. Thank you!
